Crystalline glaze – detail

On this detail we can see zinc-silicate crystals (in about natural size) stained olive-green by Rutile and copper oxide added to the glaze.

This experiment is particularly interesting for the crystals’ unique shape, which is due to the course grain grog clay used for these otherwise rather tender and sleek feminine forms.
