Crystalline glaze trial

These crystals are slightly magnified to show how much a post-firing in a gas kiln can impact the colours of an otherwise pale and unexciting crystalline glaze.

What we’ve got here according to William Melstrom’s terminology is ‘striking’ plus ‘reduction’.

In terms of art theory this is an abstract composition with a nice contrast, balanced by a subtle nuance colouration retained from the initial crystalline glazed firing.
